All of these jars are (1) not listed in Dick Roller's writings, (2) could be confused with a known jar, and (3) no photo exists in our Red Book Companion section. They are either not reported in the Fruit Jar Works, but in some cases the jar I suspect it could be confused with is listed in the Fruit Jar Works.
1. 412 TRADE MARK BANNER WIDE MOUTH (no circle), reverse: PAT'D JULY 14, 1908, dimple neck seal. It must not have a circle around the front embossing - otherwise it would be 412-1. Note that the line drawing in the Fruit Jar Works for 412 shows the circle.
2. 414 TRADE MARK BANNER REG US PAT OFF WIDE MOUTH (no circle), dimple neck seal. It must not have a circle around the front embossing - otherwise it would be 414-1.
PHOTO SUPPLIED. 1845-1 MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30TH. 1858. (note periods). Reverse: Ball MASON (two front molds). The only difference between 1845 and 236 is the periods we're told to note. However, the line drawing for 1845 in the Fruit Jar Works does not show any periods.
4. 2148 McDONALD NEW PERFECT SEAL (no circle). Beaded neck seal, wide mouth. The Fruit Jar Works has a line drawing for 2148 that looks to me like a regular mouth, not a wide mouth jar. All of my examples with this embossing have regular mouth. Do any exist with wide mouth?
5. 2149-1 McDONALD NEW PERFECT SEAL (no circle) PAT'D JULY 14, 1908, line under PERFECT, dimple neck seal, regular mouth. Could be confused with 2149 has the circle.
thanks
Jeff
edited to show that an 1845-1 photo was submitted
